Description

Graphene Nanoplatelet, Purity: 99.9+%, Size: 6 nm, S.A: 175 m²/g, Dia: 5 μm

Graphene nanoplatelets are nanoscale materials composed of short stacks of flat, platelet-shaped graphene sheets. With a thickness of 6 nanometers and a lateral diameter of approximately 5 microns, this grade offers a specific surface area of 175 m²/g. Thanks to their pure graphitic structure, they demonstrate outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity, along with enhanced mechanical reinforcement and barrier performance.

These particles can be used as high-performance additives in engineering polymers such as PPO, POM, PPS, PC, ABS, PP, PE, PS, nylon, and rubbers. Their integration into these systems significantly improves tensile strength, stiffness, abrasion and corrosion resistance, anti-static performance, and even lubrication characteristics.

Graphene nanoplatelets are known for creating effective conductive networks at low loading levels—typically 2–6 wt% for mechanical improvements, and 2–8 wt% for conductivity enhancement—making them highly efficient for multifunctional material applications.

In advanced composites, the addition of graphene nanoplatelets leads to noticeable gains in electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, viscosity, hardness, and impact strength. They can replace heavier or less efficient materials in aerospace and automotive industries—such as by reinforcing epoxy matrices to create composites that are strong enough to replace steel, yet light enough to improve fuel efficiency.

Additionally, graphene coatings can serve as lightning-strike protection layers in aircraft due to their high conductivity, protecting sensitive surfaces and extending the life of structural components.
