Storage & Handling

Cuprous oxide nanoparticles are highly unstable when exposed to air and should be stored in vacuum-sealed containers in a cool, dry environment. Avoid exposure to stress or humidity. Over time, a small fraction may oxidize to CuO (Copper Oxide) or revert to metallic copper, which is normal and does not significantly affect performance.

Applications

  • Marine Paints & Coatings: Used as an antifouling agent, preventing biofouling on ship hulls.

  • Pigments & Colorants: Red-brown pigment for ceramics, plastics, and glass.

  • Fungicides: Effective in agricultural and industrial applications.

  • Catalysis: Involved in redox and photocatalytic reactions.

  • Advanced Materials: Semiconductor applications, gas sensors, and solar cell research.
