Description:
Bismuth Oxide (Bi₂O₃) nanoparticles are high-purity, spherical yellow powders with unique optical, electronic, and catalytic properties. In beta phase form, they are widely used in advanced ceramics, glass, and electronics. At temperatures above 710 °C, molten Bi₂O₃ can dissolve or erode other metal oxides, which is beneficial in certain industrial processes.

In ceramics, bismuth oxide increases the refractive index of glass and significantly enhances ceramic performance. It is an environmentally friendly substitute for lead oxide in glazes and glass, making it an important material in eco-conscious manufacturing.

Applications:

  • Electronics: Used in pressure-sensitive resistors, capacitance doping materials, and solid electrolytes.

  • Optics: Improves refractive index in glass; high nonlinear susceptibility materials.

  • Ceramics & glass: Lead-free glaze substitute; enhances ceramic durability and optical performance.

  • Medical: Artificial bone imaging agents.

  • Catalysis: Used as a catalyst in chemical processes.

  • Polymers & coatings: Fireproofing and disinfectant additives in papers, rubbers, and plastics.

  • Magnets & vulcanization: Additive in magnetic materials and rubber curing processes.
