Description
KETJENBLACK EC-600JD – Conductive Carbon Black
KETJENBLACK EC-600JD is an ultra-high surface area electro-conductive carbon black designed for demanding antistatic and electrically conductive applications. With a BET surface area of approximately 1400 m²/g, EC-600JD achieves superior conductivity at extremely low loading levels—up to 1/6th of traditional conductive blacks. This minimizes impact on mechanical, thermal, and rheological properties, making it ideal for sensitive polymer systems.
Its uniform pellet form, low ash content, and excellent dispersion characteristics make EC-600JD suitable for a wide range of thermoplastics, thermosets, and elastomers where consistent and long-lasting electrical conductivity is required.

Key Features:
Achieves high conductivity with extremely low loading levels
Maintains mechanical properties of the base resin
Excellent dispersion in thermoplastics, thermosets, and elastomers
Very low ash and moisture content for high-purity applications
Consistent conductivity even when blended with other additives
Low grit content supports smooth extrusion and molding
Applications:
KETJENBLACK EC-600JD is engineered for use in a wide range of electroconductive applications, including:
Antistatic and ESD packaging
Semiconductive cable shielding
Electrically conductive plastics, films, and coatings
Electronics housings, cell phone components
Battery systems and conductive adhesives
Automotive components and interior parts
EMI/RFI shielding materials
Conductive flooring, tubing, and carpet backing
Due to its exceptionally high surface area, only a minimal amount of EC-600JD is needed to achieve target conductivity—allowing processors to maintain flexibility, durability, and flow properties in the final product.
Electro-Conductive Mechanism:
KETJENBLACK EC-600JD forms a highly efficient conductive network through its nano-structured primary particles and porous agglomerates, outperforming traditional carbon blacks. This unique morphology enables electrical pathways to form with minimal filler addition.
Storage Recommendations:
Store EC-600JD in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure (over 30 minutes) to UV may compromise the packaging. Seal containers properly to prevent moisture uptake.
