Graphene is one of the most popular materials because of its potential for a wide range of applications. It has a hexagonal lattice with stability at room temperature. Graphene is considered highly sensitive and functionalized with a linker molecules due to its 2D structure. Cohesive forces between graphene sheets can only be reduced through surface modification. Functionalization of can alter chemical and physical properties while providing additional functions. It is more widely used in sensors, electronic devices, and batteries. Surface functionalization has the potential to be used as nanocomposite materials.
